MISSION:
The mission of the Lawton-Bronson Education Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation organized to solicit, receive and allocate gifts, grants, and bequests of money, property or services to enhance programs, activities, and facilities of the LBCSD, to establish partnerships with the business community and individuals for the benefit of the LBCSD and to enhance the bond between the school and the community.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the organization is to function exclusively as a charitable educational not-for-profit corporation administered through the Siouxland Community Foundation.
The object is to solicit, receive and provide resources for the benefit and support of Lawton Bronson Community School District.
The foundation is not organized for profit, or organized to engage in an activity ordinarily carried on for profit, and no part of its net earnings will inure to the benefit of any member or individual associated with the foundation.
To establish and operate an organization that shall function in cooperation with the School’s policies and procedures regarding fundraising and fund distribution.
To provide financial support for the purpose of preserving, maintaining and improving education.
To solicit, accept, receive and distribute contributions designated for a specific purpose or otherwise of money, land, stocks, bonds, personal property and other such items of value from individuals, businesses, trusts, foundations, corporations and any other lawful entity to be invested and reinvested by the Foundation and used by the Foundation to enhance the basic support of the educational goals and objectives of the School/District/College. The Foundation reserves the right to refuse any contribution it may deem not to be in the best interest of the Foundation.
Subject to and specifically limited by the foregoing, this foundation may engage in any lawful act or activity in which not-for-profit foundations may engage in under the laws of the State of Iowa.
In overview, the purpose of the foundation is to connect donors who care with causes that matter and to enhance the education of Lawton-Bronson students. The LBEF is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to the celebration of Lawton-Bronson’s tradition and shaping the future of Lawton-Bronson Community Schools by advancing and supporting the students, faculty, facilities, alumni and the Lawton- Bronson community. A local advisory board is responsible for the governance of the foundation.
GOALS:
The three initial goals set by the foundation are to:
Raise funds to award scholarships for college-bound L-B senior students.
Adopt the stretch of Highway 20 in front of the school.
Work with the community to identify additional needs of the district and the community.
FUNDRAISING & EVENTS:
“Money Shot” games at halftime of boy’s home basketball games.
Eric Ricke of Edward Jones donated the prize money.
Basket Auction at Lofted Views Events Center.

Donations can range from cash donations up to an endowment funds established to provide benefits in a permanent fashion. Other donations can include, but are not limited to:

Life Insurance and Securities
Having a Foundation established allows us an avenue for eligibility for some grants and monies not previously available.
